CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: Patrick Kane, Marian Hossa and Duncan Keith each had two points as the Blackhawks romped to a 6-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes. Earlier in the day, NBC SPORTS reported the Coyotes signed forward Gilbert Brule, but he also apparently has a contract with a KHL team.

BOSTON HERALD: Milan Lucic scored twice and Patrice Bergeron also tallied as the Boston Bruins downed the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets 3-1.

TRIBLIVE.COM: Evgeni Malkin had a four-point night to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins over the Florida Panthers by a score of 5-1.

DENVER POST: Ryan O’Reilly scored the only goal in a shootout to lift the Colorado Avalanche to a 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wild.

MERCURYNEWS.COM: The San Jose Sharks blew a two-goal lead but managed to down the Anaheim Ducks 4-3 on a shootout goal by Joe Pavelski. Sharks captain Joe Thornton was struck near his right eye with a puck requiring several stitches but he was able to return to the game.

PHILLY.COM: Steve Mason made 34 saves, Sean Couturier scored the game-tying goal and Vincent Lecavalier potted the shootout winner as the Philadelphia Flyers nipped the Nashville Predators 3-2.

WASHINGTON POST: Alexander Ovechkin overtime goal lifted the Washington Capials to a 3-2 win over the floundering New York Islanders.

NJ.COM: Steve Bernier scored the game’s only goal  as the New Jersey Devils blanked the Buffalo Sabres 1-0.

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS: Backup goaltender Tomas Vokoun claims he’s feeling fine in his ongoing recovery from emergency surgery two months ago to remove a blood clot in his pelvis. His future as an NHL player remains uncertain.

BUFFALO NEWS: On the verge of being recalled by the Sabres, forward Patrick Kaleta suffered what appears to be a season-ending knee injury during a game on Friday with the Rochester Americans.

DENVER POST: Former Colorado Avalanche enforcer Scott Parker continues to suffer from the post-concussion symptoms which ended his NHL career.
