TORONTO SUN: Stars rookie Valeri Nichushkin scored twice and Jamie Benn enjoyed a four-point game as the Dallas Stars thumped the Toronto Maple Leafs 7-1.

OTTAWA CITIZEN: Former Senators goaltender Ben Bishop was perfect in a shootout as the Tampa Bay Lightning edged the Ottawa Senators 4-3.

VANCOUVER PROVINCE: Craig Smith and Nick Spaling scored in the second period to lift the Nashville Predators to a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks, who are expected to sign UFA Vinny Prospal to a tryout contract.

WINNIPEG SUN: Joe Pavelski scored the game’s only goal (his 28th over the season) as the San Jose Sharks snapped the Winnipeg Jets four-game win streak with a 1-0 victory.
