TORONTO SUN: Nazem Kadri scored twice and James van Riemsdyk potted the game winner as the Toronto Maple Leafs edged the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-2.

MONTREAL GAZETTE: Carey Price made 36 saves as the Canadiens shut out the Carolina Hurricanes 3-0. Max Pacioretty tallied his 22nd goal of the season for the Habs.

OTTAWA CITIZEN: Jason Spezza scored the game winning goal as the Ottawa Senators defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 3-2, handing the latter their third straight loss. Earlier in the day, it was reported the Senators will sign a new 12-year broadcasting deal with Bell Media.

CALGARY HERALD: T.J Brodie scored in overtime to lift the Calgary Flames to a 5-4 upset win over the Chicago Blackhawks, handing the defending Stanley Cup champions their fourth straight defeat. It was the Flames third straight win. Marian Hossa scored twice for the ‘Hawks.

WINNIPEG SUN: Mike Fisher’s power-play goal early in the third snapped a 3-3 tie and lifted the Nashville Predators to a 4-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets, who learned earlier in the day winger Evander Kane (hand infection) will be sidelined until the upcoming Olympic break.

VANCOUVER SUN: Canucks winger Alex Burrows is offering no excuses for his ongoing goalless drought (22 games).

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Burrows, a former 30-goal scorer, has been hampered by injuries this season.
