NEW YORK POST: Rick Nash didn’t score in his first return to Columbus since the Blue Jackets traded him to the New York Rangers, but he was a physical presence in the Rangers 3-1 win over his former team. Former Blue Jacket Derick Brassard tallied one of the Rangers three goals.

CHICAGO SUN-TIMES: Jonathan Toews short-handed goal early in the third period lifted the Chicago Blackhawks to a 3-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

Detroit has a game in hand over Columbus, who hold a game in hand over Washington. The Blackhawks win moves them to four points behind the St. Louis Blues for first in the Central Division.
