SPORTSNET.CA:  Canucks winger Alex Burrows talks about the possibility of losing his spot with Daniel and Henrik Sedin to newcomer Radim Vrbata.  Burrows could be moved to a line with new center Nick Bonino and either Zack Kassian or Jannik Hansen.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: If Burrows is demoted from the Sedins line he won’t have much say in the matter. The Canucks are desperate for offense, which is why they signed Vrbata this summer. Burrows struggled through an injury-shortened 2013-14 season, which affected his offensive production.

RICHMOND REVIEW: New Toronto Maple Leafs center Mike Santorelli is working hard for the upcoming season as once again he has to prove himself as an NHL center.

OTTAWA CITIZEN: While Senators prospect Curtis Lazar could be part of Canada’s team for the 2015 World Junior Hockey Championships, his preference is to be a regular part of the Senators roster this season.

CALGARY SUN: Flames prospect Sam Bennett aims to make his mark with Canada’s junior team.

EDMONTON JOURNAL: An optimist’s look at the moves made this summer by the Oilers, which includes the additions of Benoit Pouliot, Mark Fayne, Teddy Purcell, Nikita Nikitin and Leon Draisaitl.
