  1. Do not agree on the Wings pick. Must of been some rumblings that Edmonton might take their man(no way Byram was going to be there @ 6…).

It was Sieder vs Broberg for Stevie.

    • Liked that pick for wings . One of the players who has a good shot of playing in nhl this year.

      • According to what Seider said to some german websites, I don’t think he will play next season in North America.
It sounds like that he would like to play another season for Mannheim in the DEL.
Imo he should play for Mannheim or the Red Wings farm team. He is not ready to play in the NHL.

    • agree with your disagree-

  2. Thanks for doing this Lyle, I love these post mortem analysis and it feels like you covered it nicely.

Can’t believe Benning gave up a 1st for a third line centre. Though I did really like the Nucks pick at 10 so I guess they don’t quite make the loser list. Saw that Travis Yost on TSN was speculating that the Canucks have been so bad at drafting and developing they don’t value their picks a whole lot.

Islanders pick in the first round was a train wreck. Literally the guy has an injury history that makes it look like he was in a train wreck (surgery on both hips, broken wrist, concussion). It doesn’t help that the Rangers and Devils both got a lot better this week.

    – Pettersson
    – Q.Hughes
    – Demko
    – Boeser
    – Horvat
    – Dahlen
    – Juolevi
    – Woo
    – DiPietro

They don’t have the highest depth of top prospects, but to say that they don’t value their picks because of bad drafting, is inaccurate.
