  1. Forgot Nick Cousins. He’s played better than expected and will be a UFA. May be able to get a 3rd for him.

    • Aww come on man. Cousins may have originally been drafted in the 3rd Round by Philadelphia, but since then he’s been a journeyman-type player.

His association with the Flyers came to an end when dealt, with Merrick Madsen (who’s now in the ECHL) to the Coyotes for Brendan Warren (who’s also in the ECHL) and a 5th-round pick during the 2018 Draft.

He had some perceived success with Arizona in a bottom six role when he potted 7g and 20a in 2018–19. But, as a pending RFA he was not even given a qualifying offer by Arizona, which sort of gives you an idea as to how they viewed him over the long haul.

Even the Habs would only agree to a 1 year deal in July 2019, barely over the league minimum.

7g and 9a in 44 gp indicates some bottom line ability – but it isn’t going to bring back a 3rd round pick. A 5th or 6th – if they’re lucky.
