Is Michael Nylander about to sign with a Russian team? Could Peter Forsberg be close to an NHL return?

WASHINGTON POST/WASHINGTON TIMES: reported Capitals general manager George McPhee wouldn't confirm a report from RDS.CA claiming center Michael Nylander had agreed to play for Dynamo Minsk of the KHL. A team spokesman later said there wasn't anything new regarding Nylander's situation.

SPECTOR'S NOTE: It could be Nylander is considering offers from other KHL teams.

TSN.CA: reports former NHL star Peter Forsberg was encouraged by his progress in his recent attempt at a comeback and intends on continuing his progress but for now has no immediate plans on an NHL return and instructed his agent not to field any offers at this time.

SPECTOR'S NOTE: If Forsberg gets himself back into what he considers an acceptable level of playing shape we could see him make a return to the NHL later this season. I suspect he might be shooting for a roster spot on Team Sweden at the Vancouver Olympics and then following that shoot for a possible NHL return. I doubt we'll see him back in action before the New Year.
