Could two Carolina Hurricanes be of interest to the Ottawa Senators? Read on to find out.

OTTAWA SUN: Bruce Garrioch reports Senators GM Bryan Murray might be interested in Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Aaron Ward. Murray reportedly wants to add a rugged forward and depth on the defense. It's also believed the Blue Jackets, Flyers and Blackhawks might be interested in Ward, while Murray might be trying to shop blueliners Chris Campoli and Brian Lee.

Don Brennan meanwhile suggests the Senators pursue Hurricane forward Ray Whitney to add more scoring.

SPECTOR'S NOTE: The Senators would probably have an easier time landing Ward than Whitney right now as the Hurricanes would probably prefer to retain the latter for as long as possible in hopes of increasing his value.
