LOS ANGELES TIMES: On the night the Los Angeles Kings honored Rob Blake by retiring his number, the Anaheim Ducks spoiled the party as Jakob Silfverberg scored in a shootout to defeat the Kings 3-2.

DETROIT FREE PRESS: Several Red Wings, including Tomas Tatar, Gustav Nyquist and Pavel Datsyuk, all had multi-point nights in their 5-2 victory over the Nashville Predators.

THE DALLAS MORNING NEWS: The Stars blew a three-goal lead but early third-period goals by Antoine Roussel and Jamie Benn lifted them to a 5-4 win over the Washington Capitals.

THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH: An ill, banged-up Matt Calvert scored twice to lift the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 3-1 over the Boston Bruins.

THE TAMPA TRIBUNE:  Ben Bishop made 40 saves and Ryan Callahan scored in a shootout as the Tampa Bay Lightning edged the Colorado Avalanche 3-2.

TWINCITIES.COM: Devan Dubyk backstopped the Minnesota Wild to another win, this time a 3-1 victory over Dubnyk’s former team, the Arizona Coyotes.

PHILLY.COM: Chris VandeVelde scored the game-winning to lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres.  Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen’s blood clots have cleared from his lungs but not his leg, casting his playing career into doubt.

NJ.COM: New Jersey Devils goalie Cory Schneider’s upper-body injury might not be as serious as believed. The club has yet to bring in a replacement for Schneider.

CHICAGO TRIBUNE: Blackhawks winger Daniel Carcillo could face a lengthy suspension for his crosscheck on Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault.
