THE PROVINCE: The New Jersey Devils doubled up the Vancouver Canucks 4-2. A positive note for the Canucks was Zack Kassian, skating with the Sedin twins, tallied both Vancouver goals.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Maybe this convinced Canucks coach Willie Desjardins to keep Kassian with the twins for several games to see how they do.

CALGARY HERALD: The Anaheim Ducks tallied five third-period goals to overcome a 2-0 deficit and douse the Flames 6-3.

TORONTO SUN: Goals by Eric and Jordan Staal lifted the Carolina Hurricanes to a 2-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Earlier in the day, Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly apologized for making a comment about “not being a girl” regarding the Leafs current situation.

EDMONTON SUN: Devan Dubnyk backstopped the Minnesota Wild to a 4-0 shutout over the Edmonton Oilers. Earlier in the day, Oilers center Rob Klinkhammer signed a one-year, $750K contract extension.
