LOS ANGELES TIMES: Jeff Carter and Dwight King each tallied a goal and an assist as the Los Angeles Kings beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-3. The loss spoiled the 1,000th career NHL game of Blue Jackets winger Scott Hartnell, who tallied a goal in the game.

ARIZONA REPUBLIC: Shootout goals by Lucas Lessio and Antoine Vermette (left) gave the Arizona Coyotes a 3-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. Coyotes goalie Mike Smith made 36 saves plus two in the shootout.


CSNPHILLY.COM: Philadelphia Flyers goalie Steve Mason will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his troublesome right knee. It has yet to be determined how long Mason will be sidelined.

LOS ANGELES TIMES: Anaheim Ducks goalie Frederik Andersen remains day-to-day after being struck on the back of his head by a falling net during a recent game against Tampa Bay. He could miss the Ducks’ upcoming game against the Florida Panthers.

SUN-SENTINEL.COM: Florida Panthers forwards Tomas Fleischmann, Sean Bergenheim, Scottie Upshall and Tomas Kopecky are running out of time to prove their continuing value to the club. The four are unrestricted free agents this summer and could be shopped at the March trade deadline.
