Game recaps.
MONTREAL GAZETTE/TORONTO STAR: Carey Price made 30 saves for his sixth shutout of the season as the Montreal Canadiens blanked the listless Toronto Maple Leafs 4-0. David Desharnais scored twice and Manny Malhotra scored his first goal of the season.
OTTAWA SUN: Andrew Hammond won his fifth straight start and Mike Hoffman scored twice as the surging Ottawa Senators doubled up the San Jose Sharks 4-2.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: With the Bruins, Panthers and Flyers also winning, the Senators remain seven points out of a wild-card berth.
EDMONTON JOURNAL: Despite a solid effort by the Oilers, they fell 2-1 to the St. Louis Blues.
Notable headlines.
WINNIPEG SUN: Jets forward Blake Wheeler (left knee) hopes to return to the lineup today against the LA Kings.
THE PROVINCE: Behind the jovial naturs of Vancouver Canucks goalie Eddie Lack lurks a fierce competitor.
CALGARY SUN: The Flames must continue their balance scoring attack if they hope to reach the playoffs.
Listless was a nice way to put it Lyle price barely had to move to make those saves! The Habs are finally beating the bottom dwellers which is a good sign!!
From your perspective Lyle, how does Hoffman sit in the Calder race? I know everyone has been talking up Ekblad and, before he went cold, Johnny Hockey, but Hoffman could hit 30 goals before it’s over and even at 23 to date he’d be hard to ignore.
