ESPN.COM: Katie Strang reports the New York Rangers have reached an agreement with Mats Zuccarello on a four-year, $18 million contract with a partial no-trade clause.
SPECTOR’S NOTE: Just over 24 hours after the Rangers announced contract talks had stalled and they were shopping Zuccarello, the winger’s camp agrees to a new deal on the Rangers terms. They just learned a valuable lesson: don’t play chicken with Blueshirts GM Glen Sather.
SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS: The San Jose Sharks traded forward James Sheppard to the New York Rangers in exchange for a 2016 fourth-round picks.

CHICAGO TRIBUNE: Blackhawks winger Patrick Sharp addressed recent rumors claiming he was a disruptive influence, calling the stories false and claiming they were taking an emotional toll. He said he’s also considering legal action.
