PHILLY.COM: Vincent Lecavalier scored his first goal since Jan. 3 and Brayden Schenn scored twice as the Philadelphia Flyers downed the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-1. Penguins captain Sidney Crosby scored his 300th career NHL goal in the loss. Earlier in the day, the Flyers learned defenseman Luke Schenn is expected to undergo season-ending abdominal surgery. The Penguins were playing without Evgeni Malkin, who is day-to-day with an undisclosed “minor injury.”

SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS: The San Jose Sharks kept their thin playoff hopes alive whilst dealing a serious blow to the Colorado Avalanche’s postseason dreams with a 5-1 victory.
