EDMONTON JOURNAL: Top prospect Connor McDavid has been fitted for a new suit and will await being selected by the Edmonton Oilers, who won the draft lottery and thus hold the top pick in this year’s draft.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: It would be quite the swerve if the Oilers trade the pick or use it to select a different player, but neither of those scenarios are expected to take place. 

OTTAWA CITIZEN: Senators prospect goalie Matt O’Connor realizes it will take some time before he gets a shot with the big club. The former Boston University goaltender is expected to start next season with the Senators AHL farm team in Binghamton.

CALGARY SUN: The Flames recently signed  right-winger Louick Marcotte to an AHL contract.

WINNIPEG FREE PRESS: The Jets are planning a draft party at the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre in Winnipeg on Friday, June 26. Doors open at 5:30 PM local time with the event beginning at 7 PM.
