TSN.CA: Quebecor controlling shareholder Pierre-Karl Peladeau says no public funds are needed to bring an NHL team to Quebec City.
Pierre-Karl Peladeau must feel good about saying that statement, except he is wrong. Considerable public money was put into making the arena – and it was clearly known that the primary goal of the arena was to house a NHL team.
His dream is to one day have a team in the NHL from a country other than Canada or the U.S. He can wait till Hell freezes over and apply for a franchise there.
Hmmm. Let’s see. Kane was accused of rape almost a month ago, still no police charges laid, but the London Knights have already decided he’s guilty and want no further association. I guess they think there’s absolutely no chance the woman was crying “wolf” and maybe looking for a fast buck – or even a relationship beyond one night with the millionaire star. Nah. That only happens in Hollywood. Why not just bloody well wait until a decision is made as to whether or not there are grounds for laying such a serious charge?
Yes, not having this practice team that nobody has ever heard of named after him anymore really is quite a blow. Probably his biggest concern at the moment. It’s just public relations, obviously they are going to distance themselves at this point.
I would prefer not to live in a country where government officials (and that includes police and prosecutors) have the power to ruin a person’s life without having to prove anything.
And less you think that the Buffalo news is a government agency then the government wasn’t the one who made this public.
