CALGARY SUN: The Flames still haven’t reached an agreement on a new contract for restricted free agent winger Micheal Ferland. GM Brad Treliving claims money and term are the holdups.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Ferland is coming off an entry-level contract and lacks arbitration rights. Other than staging a holdout, he has little leverage in his negotiations with the Flames. 

OTTAWA SUN: The Senators and former captain Daniel Alfredsson are still working out the details of his new job with the organization.

NBC SPORTS: The Winnipeg Jets have offered Thomas Raffl, brother of Philadelphia Flyers winger Michael Raffl, a professional tryout.
