CHICAGO TRIBUNE: Despite speculation suggesting the Blackhawks front office were tired of Patrick Kane’s off-ice behavior and could trade him, GM Stan Bowman insists the winger remains a long-term part of the club’s plans.
WINNIPEG SUN: Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec was injured in a collision with Shane Doan during his club’s 3-2 victory over the Arizona Coyotes. It’s unknown how long Pavelec will be sidelined, but he was spotted after the game leaving the arena on crutches.
SI.COM: The NHL was named in a lawsuit among “approximately 50 companies and individuals” invested in Daily Fantasy Sports. The suit alleges that “DraftKings and FanDuel have engaged in illegal gambling and deceptive practices under Florida and federal laws and that the banks, leagues and other companies negligently failed to realize that they were investing and partnering with illegal gambling operations.”
