USA TODAY: Kevin Allen profiles the Hockey Hall of Fame Class of 2015 inductees. Among the notables are defensemen Nicklas Lidstrom,  Chris Pronger and Phil Housley and center Sergei Fedorov.

TSN: Rick Westhead reports former NHL forward Bernie Nicholls believes Mark Napier, president of the NHL Alumni Association “is “screwing over” former players by refusing to share with association members the details of a concussion lawsuit filed against the NHL.”

SPECTOR’S NOTE: This battle between the league and former players over concussion-related injuries during their playing days reminds me of the pension fund fight between former players, the NHL and NHLPA thirty years ago. Ultimately, it ended in victory for the players and brought about the downfall of PA director and player agent Alan Eagleson.

The league (and perhaps the alumni association?) seem to have learned nothing from that scrap. The players simply won’t quit over this issue. Instead of fighting them the league, PA and alumni association should be working with them. At the very least, it’ll cut down on the unflattering headlines. 

THE BUFFALO NEWS: Vancouver Canucks and former Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller faces off tonight against his old club in Buffalo for the first time since he was traded away in 2014.

NJ.COM: After tallying only 11 goals last season, New Jersey Devils center Travis Zajac has regained his scoring touch this season, with six goals in 12 games thus far.

SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS: The decline of the Sharks as an NHL powerhouse has led to a decline in attendance at the Shark Tank.

CBS SPORTS: A typo on the Blues twitter feed has been embraced by the players and fans. Get the story behind #RoarBacon. Speaking of the Blues, they reactivated defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk (lower body injury) and signed free-agent winger Martin Havlat to a one-year contract, two-way contract worth $600k.

YAHOO SPORTS: Pittsburgh Penguins winger Pascal Dupuis is returning to Pittsburgh after being briefly hospitalized in Edmonton over symptoms which may or may not be related to his history of blood clots.

TWINCITIES.COM: Minnesota Wild winger Zach Parise (right knee injury) will miss the club’s next two games. It doesn’t appear as though he’ll be sidelined for a lengthy period.

OTTAWA SUN: Senators defenseman Cody Ceci (undisclosed injury) could miss Saturday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes
