CBS SPORTS:  Jonathan Toews scored his league-leading (and franchise record) fourth overtime goal in the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

THE GLOBE AND MAIL: Montreal Canadiens winger Brendan Gallagher has received clearance to play in today’s Winter Classic against the Boston Bruins. Gallagher missed 17 games with two broken fingers on his left hand.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: The Canadiens offense plummeted soon after Gallagher was sidelined. It’ll be interesting to see if his return sparks an offensive improvement by the Habs. 

NEWSDAY: New York Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk is listed as day-to-day with a left-shoulder injury.
