Congrats Pittsburgh !
A heck of a run. Very happy about last nights win. Hope the Sharks don’t take it too hard – they played hard and Martin Jones was unbelievable in the series.
Kessel/Murray MVP
hate the penguins, but much deserved congratulations to them….BUT,the conn smythe trophy being awarded to sid is a joke….he was good, but if it weren’t for matt murray the penguins wouldn’t have beaten the caps or the bolts,or the sharks for that matter…enjoy the summer fellow fans!
I disagree about Murray. He played well. But as the playoffs went on, the Pens only got stronger. He had the lightest workload you will ever see and he let in soft goals that pretty much cost them the two games against the Sharks.
Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s very good and is clearly the goalie for the Pens going forward. But I think he kind of played is way out of the MVP running in the finals.
I’m fine with Sid winning it. I thought Phil might because of his numbers, but Sid was their best player at both ends of the rink all playoffs long. Even when he wasn’t scoring, he was just a beast out there.
