Are Jordan Eberle and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins available via trade?

TSN: Frank Servalli updated his list of trade bait today. He also reported of speculation the Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers might be working on something. He claims the Oilers wish to add another defenseman after acquiring Adam Larsson yesterday. It could be UFA Jason Demers or something bigger. Colorado Avalanche defenseman and RFA Tyson Barrie remains in the rumor mill despite GM Joe Sakic’s insistence the blueliner isn’t on the trade block.

Among the notables on Seravalli’s trade list are Edmonton Oilers forwards Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Nail Yakupov and Jordan Eberle, St. Louis Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk, Anaheim Ducks blueliner Cam Fowler, Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Scott Hartnell, Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Ben Bishop, New York Rangers left Wing Rick Nash and Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog.

Latest on Evander Kane and Thomas Vanek.

WGR 550: Georges Laraque said he’s been told by an agent the Buffalo Sabres are looking to trade left wing Evander Kane.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Given Kane’s struggles on the ice and issues away from the rink, which includes an ongoing police investigation, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Sabres wanted to trade him. However, I doubt they’ll find many takers right now.

STARTRIBUNE.COM’s Michael Russo tweets the following: “Some of the teams I hear that have at least reached out to Thomas Vanek: , ; ;

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Despite Vanek’s recent struggles, teams seeking affordable scoring experience could consider him on a one-year deal.

Updates on the Panthers and Flames.

SUN-SENTINEL.COM: Harvey Fialkov reports the Florida Panthers could be busy in the unrestricted free agent market. They have over $19 million in salary-cap space and could pursue secondary scoring depth. New York Islanders forwards Kyle Okposo and Frans Nielsen and Boston Bruins winger Loui Eriksson could be on their radar. Chicago Blackhawks winger Dale Weise could be a fourth-line option. Fialkov also notes Eric Staal’s availability and ties to Panthers GM Tom Rowe from their days with the Carolina Hurricanes.

CALGARY SUN: Kristen Odland reports the Flames could try to land another goalie with the cap space freed up by their buyout of winger Mason Raymond. Carter Hutton and Chad Johnson are available via free agency.
