  1. I think of the ‘Hawks as the most talented and successful hockey team of the last 20 years.

    I also think of them as an object lesson in poor cap management. Signing Toews and Kane to (then) league high contracts meant having to dump players critical to their success.

    The same mistake of overpaying players was made by the next best team of that era, the Kings.

    And, sorry Leaf fans, but your team has made the mistake of overpaying key players to the detriment of the rest of the line up without having won a Cup. Owch!
