  1. I’m probably not th only one that thinks if the league wants to curb costs, they might look to limit contract length and in turn make the cap a sofa one where teams are allowed to go over the cap if they are signing one of their own roster players only. Maybe apply a tax to teams that exceed it by an amount or after x amount of times they do it. Otherwise I see the league becoming a league of stars and slugs.

  2. Or Owners and GMs could just do their job.

  3. Leafs will be fine. Cap will increase a bit, hyman and ceci will be moved without any quality impact, lilligren and sandin will be up, a bridge for dermott at 3M or so and use barrie and muzzin money to sign one quality RD. Young core with more experience and team will be better again.
