Seems to me that the main problem is that the league studied how the Jackets dismantled Tampa in the playoffs, made similar adjustments for their games against the Lightning and Cooper has overreacted to that first round humiliation.

I like that observation Paul. And tied into that is the fact several teams have improved their games overall from last season and now, when playing these teams, TB players aren’t just getting an opportunity to fatten their stats but actually have to work hard for 60 minutes to get the points.

In hockey more so than other sports, coaching changes energizes the team, even when the current coach has been terrific and a great guy.
