Hi Lyle, I have a question. If teams where granted compliance buyouts, can they use them on a previous buyout? For example, can Rangers choose amnesty on the Shattenkirk buyout or would it only apply to a player currently on your roster?
Leafs are smarter than that. Dubas will pick up a contract from another team to buyout for a 1st and nullify the marleau cap dump cost. They may even get more than a first if they pick up a really ugly contract like Seabrook from hawks

Hi, Slick. A compliance buyout must be for a player on the active roster. The Rangers cannot use it on a previous buyout
