NHL Divisional Realignment Rekindles Historic Rivalries

  1. I remember when Montreal/ Toronto was considered a “rivalry”.

That kind of disappeared long ago, except in the minds of dweebs like Ron MacLean and the other “hosts” on HNIC/ CBC.

    Been gone x 30-40 years.

    Montréal / Québec
    back then,

    and now
    Montréal / Boston

this is who the fans I know get serious about.
I don’t know anyone who really gets excited about the Leafs.

And it seems to me that Toronto’s big rivalry is now with Ottawa.

Time to move on, the 6 team NHL is long gone.

  2. Rich as usual… I for one can’t wait for this season. The north division has the most offensive scoring teams as well as the most defensively porous ones with many questions in goal. It’s gonna be great.
