   If they do a 24 team playoff format I say the teams left out draft where they are, skip the lottery. The other 24 will draft where they fall out of the playoffs. I am only hoping for something like this to see if Ottawa will trade picks 2 and 3 for the Wings 1st and a player or picks. 🙂

   THAT could indeed be an interesting situation in the circumstances you describe AzWingsFan, especially with Ottawa also holding the Islanders 1st.

   Lafreniere is highly rated by just about all scouts and top analysts covering the game – like Mackenzie and Maguire – but from 2 to 6 (Byfield, Rossi, Perfetti. Stutzle (all Cs), and Drysdale (a D) are projected as solid picks. Stutzle of Germany, in fact, has climbed rapidly up the list due to his play in the German pro league and has some mentioning favorable comparisons to Draisaitl

   So George, would you think in this format the Ottawa might bite on 1st and Mantha for 2 and 3?
