    You nearly went 72 hours without mentioning the “P” word in your column—I was starting to feel a sense of loss!

    If he signs for 8.0 (maybe 8.5) million, it may not make him the highest paid d’man in the league, but it would certainly make him the highest paid Blue for several years to come. I think that’s “the right message” to give your captain, but I don’t think your captain needs to be asking 9+ million during these times.

    What % do you feel is the chance that he resigns?

    • Right now, 50-50. I think he wants to stay and Armstrong wants to keep him. Still, even if he accepts a “hometown discount”, the Blues will have to shed salary to fit his new contract into their payroll.
