David Pastrnak netted his fourth goal of the season as the Boston Bruins downed the Winnipeg Jets 4-1.

TSN: Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, Toronto Maple Leafs rookie Auston Matthews and Florida Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo are the three stars of the NHL’s opening week.

NBC SPORTS:  The Arizona Coyotes assigned veteran defenseman Zbynek Michalek to the AHL.

THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER: The Anaheim Ducks placed winger Mason Raymond on waivers with the intent of demoting him to their AHL farm team.

LAS VEGAS JOURNAL-REVIEW: Tom Poraszka, founder of GeneralFanager.com, has been hired by the Las Vegas NHL expansion team as a hockey operations analyst.

SPECTOR’S NOTE: Congratulations to Poraszka on his new gig, though it means GeneralFanager is now shuttered. Poraszka was the first to fill the void left by the untimely death of CapGeek founder Matthew Wuest. His site quickly became one of the most used and reliable NHL salary sites around. Fortunately, CapFriendly.com and NHLNumbers.com are still going strong and are as invaluable as GeneralFanager.
