  1. I can see the Wings helping out one of the cap strapped teams only if it is a player who can help them now and the future or a 1st and maybe more come with a bad short term contract. Even though the Wings have space now they have young players to sign over the next few years so cannot see Yzerman going crazy with the cap space.

  2. Although cap space is king in today’s game, I think the future high draft picks are even more important to the Wings. To some, high picks for the next few seasons might be somewhat of a luxury, they are a necessity to the Wings. They are not yet filled up with good prospects to stop acquiring picks / prospects. And you are correct about Hronek – if he is the cost to acquire Hannafin, what’s the point ? The would fill one void but create another.

  3. Terrible Trade.
    Flames aren’t parting with Hanifan.
He will replace Gio’s spot on the top pair in a couple years.

    Flames could use another RD.
Treliving said he wanted to leave a spot open for the youngster to compete and earn a spot.

Maybe Hamonic comes back on a team friendly incentive laden contract.
