  1. I am not sure if it could/would happen, I’m not even going to guess at the assets or if the dollars would fit, but perhaps a team like Calgary looking for a scoring winger could look at Evegnii Dadonov from Ottawa. Yes, he is signed to a big cap hit for two more seasons, so the deal is unlikely … Ottawa may have to eat a bad contract in return.

Dadonov is proven. His overall numbers are down this year (though still tracking for a 20+ goal season if this was an 82 game season). With Lindholm or Monahan at center he is bound to have a more effective game than he is in Ottawa right now. No quarantine would help that trade.

I think the Sens would have to eat Lucic though to make it work, which I don’t think will happen. We know term deals are hard at the deadline.

The only other option I see out there is Dzingel, who has been scoring at a decent clip since his return to the nations capital.

  2. Lucic? Not – a – chance. With that out of the way, what do you propose Calgary give up for Dadonov – no picks/prospects – they have more than enough.

    • I have no idea if an actual deal is possible here. I was just looking at an out of the box scenario, normally, I like spit balling ideas, but I do agree this one would be hard to work out.

A lot of dollars have to move, Sens are loaded with picks and prospects, and then how much is the value of Dadonov currently? I don’t have the answers. But I find it an intriguing scenario.
