Once again, Habs sign an important player for a long time at a favourable cap hit. Also speaks to the level of commitment to the team by so many players, so yeah, a good counter to the non tax state lure that I often point to.
Lyle, you posted this the moment it broke on the mainstream media. You must have inside access.
🤫😉
Well, for the record, I am glad you do. This site is excellent. Having so many things summarized from so many sites is waaay better than having to try and access restricted or pay for view sites from cities all over the league. And every day of the week.
I don’t know how you do it but I’m glad you do. Take a bow.
Regarding discussion in rumors and headlines,
there’s no NMC during the first 5 years of the contract with a partial (10 team) NMC kicking in for the last 3 years.
Montreal is a destination city again.
So Bourque and Lyubushkin are off to Nashville. Sounds like Dallas will keep Robertson then. Crazy move.
Robo forcing his teammates out to fit in his big contract.
Lol. Totally. It’s funny to me that MacFarland is the beneficiary of this. He was the one who said ‘nope’ to Mikko Rantanen and started this chain-reaction.
I like what Nashville is doing. Last group of player acquisitions was all high priced players, new group or recent trades brings back young ,hungry players willing to prove themself.
JohnnyZ, also the ramifications of the Rantanan contract . Stars could get top heavy like the Oilers.
This has been the quietest 1st hour of Free Agency I have seen in a long time. Just goes to show how slim the pickings are. Hopefully things pick up on the trade front as the afternoon goes on.

All those Bruins fans who have been hoping for a way to move Korpisalo got their wish with his trade to the Rangers for F prospect Kalle Valsanen and a 2028 4th Rounder.
Valsanen, a 23 y/o RW, was taken by the Rangers in the 2021 4th round (106th overall). This past season in Hartford he had 3g 1a 4pts in 51gp … so a real long-shot.
Thank god GeorgeO O,need to cut salary at that position and give Dipietro and opportunity!Better yet, no salary retention!
I read that the B’s retained $1M
Let’s see what Sweeney does with the extra cap space.
Lyle, I can’t believe that that great signing my blue jackets did with Ryan Lomberg didn’t make the list.
HE is gritty 31 and can’t score Marchment goes to the Sharks for 5 years at & per and does the same thing except he scores. It has the get better the Jackets as they fall farther and farther behind the teams in the east.
Poor CBJ,becoming the land of the lost toys. Watch Fantilli decide to check out!
Trouba got a raise. Good for him. Haters gonna hate!
Sharks rebuild complete. They’re spending.
