Athanasiou has some issues but also has talent. Leafs need to get in the market for Toffoli if only to bump the price that Boston might have to pay. The B’s trades at the deadline last year really helped them take out the Leafs!

I think it was Kadri’s emotions and subsequent suspension that helped the bruins take out the Leafs.

I don’t understand how the leafs get in the market for a trade?
How can they evaluate what LA is willing to take or Boston is willing to give without putting something on the table?
“We’ll give you Kapanen and a 1st, but we want to make sure Boston isn’t willing to offer more”
“Oh, you’ll take Kapanen and a 1st because Boston didn’t offer more?”…. “we were just kidding”
This is more of a RFA strategy (that I think doesn’t really exist, but often suggested” than a trade thing.

I was thinking that the Oilers should try and get in on Athanasiou. Then I look his stats up on HockeyDB and noticed that in his first 4 seasons the most games he has played in a season is 76, and has already missed 8 games this season. He seems to be a bit injury prone.
