  1. Has to make you think if someone like the Pens or any other team who really shouldn’t be in the running to win first overall pick make a bigger story more publicity and notoriety for the NHL than say Ottawa? Like just the thought of it has been widely talked and fawned over by fans and writers.

    • And with the 1st pick the Toronto Maple Leafs would like to select.
Wait we have a trade .
Toronto trades their 1st overall pick to Montreal for their second overall, and Alex Romanov
      Montreal selects Alex Lafreniere
      Toronto selects Quinton Byfield

  2. Are we being systematically censored and deleted now … or just more glitches?

    • More glitches, George. Still working on it.

  3. In this years draft we have Pittsburgh winning 1st overall, Edmonton picking second and Toronto picking 3rd…. sounds like a Gary Bettman wet dream, but it could happen. So here is my conspiracy theory pick, if any of those 3 lose the play in round, they will end up with a top 3 pick… just saying…:).

    • As Greg Wyshynski of ESPN is quoted above “it’s absolutely absurd”

  4. Aren’t they holding the first draft before the play-in tournament? So the teams in the play-in should already know if the draft gives them the opportunity to get the first overall pick. That’s the most absurd part of this scheme.

It should have simply been reweighted odds for the 7 teams not playing again this year.
