Once Torts gets canned, all will be well with PLD and he remains a Blue Jacket.

MTL having three 3rd line centres is not depth Lyle. Maybe you were auto corrected fron dearth?

How dare you Chad, defense from Toronto is all top 2 def in every other team. They are that good.
Btw Wendell, after 2 victories did you plan the parade?

It took Toronto’s great centres and defense three games to get one regulation win and it was against the team predicted to finish last by most.

PLD to LA for either byfeild + or Turcotte +. PLD makes a lot of sense there as their 1C, which moves Kopitar to 2C and the other spots at C for the young guys

A team that never gets talked about who NEED a centre is the Minnesota Wild. They could easily part with: Victor Rask, Marco Rossi and one of their 2 1st round picks. That’s more than fair value.
It’s too early to say and very much a small sample size but MTL did shut down the Oilers 1-2 Hart Trophy punch down the middle. If I’m Marc Bergevin, I’m not in any hurry to move on Dubois and most definitely not at the expense of Kotkaniemi. It’s too early to close the book on a 20 year old 3rd overall pick.
If Dubois gets resolved by the deadline, I’d be surprised. I’d much rather see CBJ replace Tortorella with Gerard Gallant if he is available.

Craig, the Wild can make a package of Eriksson Ek, Greenway and Rossi.
It gives Columbus a young centre, a power forward and a 3 position forward.
I don’t think the Wild needs to add a draft pick tbh.

I would want Bergevin to be extremely buyer beware on PLD. The cautionary tale being the Matt Duchene trade to Ottawa. Ottawa , coming off a conference final appearance was super aggressive on Duchene and gave up multiple assets to spend the next 2 seasons tanking. One of those assets ended up becoming Bowen Byram for COL. It’s taken 2 years of rebuilding for Ottawa to recover from that trade.

If the Rangers want him they should have more than enough in young players to entice Columbus while keeping Strome in NY.
A package of Filip Chytil, K’Andre Miller and Morgan Barron plus either a second round pick or under-20 prosoect would be a prize haul for the Blue Jackets and still leave the Rangers with plenty of depth in their system.
Doesn’t make Columbus better now but makes them better.

Your out of your mind; this is not Eichel or McDavid! Plus where are the Rangers getting the extra 5,000,000; Strome would have to be a part of any trade for a young second line center.

Hockey fans including those in Montreal make fun of Danault being a 1C yet for the past few years his line of Tatar/Danault/Gallagher has been in the top 5 of the league.
The metrics of this line is off the charts and they are always up against opposition top lines specifically when it comes to time of possession.
A PLD trade is palatable for the Habs only if Bergevin can’t sign Danault, and that is unlikely or if Columbus feels pressured.
It’s only a few games but Max has already been benched and showing his weakness at the position.
Columbus has tough decisions to make and time isn’t on their side.
